ABOUT ME

Cristian Di Mattia is a director and filmmaker with over twenty years of experience in documentaries, television programs, commercials, and audiovisual content. Throughout his career, he has developed a narrative vision deeply focused on the human, social, and emotional dimensions of storytelling, working across documentary filmmaking, cinematic language, and visual communication.

A graduate of the New York Film Academy, he has written and directed short films, music videos, and advertising campaigns, with his work presented at international festivals and cultural events. His documentary work spans a wide range of genres, from social storytelling to historical and cultural documentaries, biographical portraits, and explorations of collective memory.

For Rai Cinema and major Italian television networks, he has directed docu-films dedicated to key moments in contemporary history, from the Aldo Moro case to the fall of the Berlin Wall, from the history of the Italian left to the end of Fascism. With The Black Italian Renaissance, a Sky Original documentary, he brought renewed attention to the African and Afro-descendant presence in Italian Renaissance art, reaching international festivals and receiving recognition in the cultural and cinematic field.

His work combines research, narrative rigor, and visual sensitivity, with the aim of transforming memory, history, and human stories into powerful, accessible narratives that speak to the present.
